Your privacy matters to us, and we want you to feel clear about what happens to your information when you visit theessentiellestudio.co or work with us. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have. It applies to this website, owned and operated by The Essentielle Studio LLC (“Essentielle Studio,” “we,” “our,” or “us”).

1. Information We Collect

We collect information in a few different ways, depending on how you interact with us.

Information you provide directly.

This includes things like your name, email address, and any details you share through contact forms, intake questionnaires, event registrations, or in the course of working with us as a client. Our intake and proposal process runs through Dubsado, and event registration for workshops like the Root Room runs through Luma.

Payment information.

If you make a payment to us, it’s processed securely through Stripe. We don’t collect or store your full card details ourselves. Stripe handles that in accordance with its own security standards and privacy practices.

Website usage information.

Our site is hosted on Squarespace, which may collect basic technical information automatically, such as your browser type, general location, and how you interact with the site, in order to keep it running smoothly. We don’t currently use additional third-party analytics or advertising cookies beyond what Squarespace provides by default.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to your inquiries and communicate with you

  • Process and manage client engagements, including proposals, contracts, and invoicing

  • Register you for workshops or events you’ve signed up for

  • Improve our website and the way we communicate our work

  • Meet legal and accounting obligations

We don’t sell your information, and we don’t use it for anything beyond what’s needed to run our business and serve our clients well.

3. How We Share Your Information

We share information only with the trusted third-party tools that help us operate, including Dubsado (client management and contracts), Stripe (payment processing), Luma (event registration), and Squarespace (website hosting). Each of these providers has its own privacy and security practices governing how they handle data on our behalf.

We don’t share your information with third parties for their own marketing purposes, and we don’t share it beyond what’s necessary to deliver our services or meet legal requirements.

4. Email Communication

If you sign up to hear from us, whether that’s through a future newsletter, workshop updates, or other communications, we’ll only use your email address for the purpose you signed up for. We’re not currently using a dedicated email marketing platform, but as that changes (for example, if we begin using Flodesk or a similar tool), this policy will be updated to reflect it, and you’ll always have the option to unsubscribe from any communication we send.

5. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you’re located, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you

  • Receive your information in a portable, readily usable format

  • Ask us to correct or amend any information we’ve collected about you

  • Request that we restrict how we process your information

  • Request that we delete some or all of the information we’ve collected about you

  • Withdraw your consent to processing at any time

  • Object to your information being used for profiling or automated decision-making

  • Opt out of any sale of your information (to be clear, we don’t sell personal information)

California residents.

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you have the rights listed above with respect to your personal information. If you’d like to exercise any of them, reach out to us at the contact information below.

UK and international clients.

If you’re located outside the United States, including in the UK, we still handle your information with the same care described in this policy, and the same rights above apply to you.

Exercising your rights.

You can exercise any of these rights by emailing hello@theessentiellestudio.co. We’ll need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request, and may ask you to provide some information to do so. We aim to respond to most requests within 30 days of receipt. If a request will take longer, we’ll let you know in writing. In some cases, the law allows us to decline a request, and if that happens, we’ll explain why.

6. Complaints

If you’re a resident of the United Kingdom and aren’t satisfied with how we’ve handled a request or your personal information, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

7. Location of Data Processing

All data processing activities described in this policy take place in the United States.

8. Data Retention

We keep client and business information for as long as it’s needed to fulfill the purpose it was collected for, including any ongoing legal, accounting, or contractual obligations. If you’d like your information removed sooner and there’s no legal reason we need to retain it, let us know and we’ll take care of it.

9. Children’s Privacy

This site and our services are intended for adults aged 18 and older. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we’ve inadvertently collected information from a minor, we’ll delete it.

10. Do Not Track

Do Not Track (“DNT”) is a browser setting you can turn on to signal that you don’t want to be tracked across the web. We don’t currently respond to DNT signals, since we’re not doing the kind of cross-site tracking that setting is designed to address. You can still enable or disable DNT through your browser’s settings at any time.

11. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the information we collect, including relying on established, secure third-party platforms (Dubsado, Stripe, Luma, and Squarespace) that maintain their own security standards. That said, no method of transmission or storage online is completely secure, and we can’t guarantee absolute security.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our tools, offerings, or legal obligations evolve. Any changes will be posted here with an updated effective date, so it’s worth checking back periodically.
